We receive a call this morning from our Public Health Liaison to inform us that the final result for the resident that had tested positive for Influenza B was negative. This means that there was a rapid test performed by the Public Health lab which was initially positive and with that the Ministry of Health reacted to place the home into influenza B outbreak. After further testing of the sample, it has proven to be a false positive. At this time, Tamiflu will be discontinued for the residents and we currently have an unknown pathogen was the Respiratory Outbreak in Cedar.

Currently, we have two (2) residents isolated in Cedar with unknown respiratory virus and nine (9) residents isolated in Spruce, two (2) of which have covid-19.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to let us know
