At this time, Spruce, Cedar, Oak and Birch remains in outbreak with COVID and other pathogens (not influenza, as this was ruled out last week). Oak home area outbreak was declared November 8, 2022, for residents with COVID and Birch outbreak was declared November 10, 2022, for residents with unknown respiratory virus. Testing is underway with Public Health.
Residents have respiratory symptoms that include nasal congestion, cough, lethargy, sore throat and/or mild fever.
Cedar cases at this time: 25
Spruce cases at this time: 2
Oak cases at this time: 9
Birch cases at this time: 6
The following is direction from Public Health at this time:
No General Visitors, only Essential Caregivers at a maximum of two (2) at a time for each resident in the affected home areas.
The following enhanced measures have been implemented:
- Symptomatic residents are in isolation on droplet/contact precautions
- Enhanced cleaning of high touch surfaces twice per day
- Surveillance of residents to identify any changes or development of symptoms
- The required personal protective equipment (PPE) when on the unit is N95 and eye protection.
- The required PPE for isolated residents is droplet contact precautions including N95, eye protection, gowns and gloves.

All individuals entering the home area are required to wear N95 masks and eye protection in this home area.

- Cedar: twenty-five (25) COVID Positive Residents on isolation
- Oak: four (4) COVID Positive Residents on isolation

Oak has been placed in heightened surveillance as on November 7, 2022 related to an unknown respiratory virus. The following is direction from Public Health at this time:
There are currently ten (10) residents in Cedar, four (4) being COVID and three (3) residents in Spruce, two (2) being COVID. Oak currently has two (2) residents isolated with unknown respiratory symptoms. Resident have respiratory symptoms that include nasal congestion, cough and mild fever.
No General Visitors, only Essential Caregivers at a maximum of two (2) at a time for each resident to the Spruce and Cedar home areas. Visiting not impacted in Oak at this time.
The following enhanced measures have been implemented.
- Symptomatic residents are in isolation on droplet/contact precautions
- Enhanced cleaning of high touch surfaces twice per day
- Surveillance of residents to identify any changes or development of symptoms
- The required PPE when on the unit is surgical mask and eye protection.
- The required PPE for isolated residents is droplet contact precautions including surgical mask, eye protection, gowns and gloves.
