The Pines Resident & Family Portal

Thanksgiving is a time for family and feast. I hope that each of you take time to show thanks and spend time with your family. I am definitely thankful for all of the wonderful individuals that live, visit, and work at the Pines. Happy Thanksgiving to each of you.

As we continue with upgrades to the home, we will be having a new emergency ramp installed at the front of the home. Our team learned last year, with our emergency evacuation exercise, that this was something that was needed for resident safety, if we ever needed to evacuate. Please watch for this project to begin in October.

The emergency generator have been delivered and will be hooked up to the home in the coming weeks. This will supply the home with one hundred (100) percent power if we happen to have a power outage. We will have a few moments in time over the coming weeks where we will be required to run on our old generator as the new one is hooked up to the home. We will do our best to communicate this prior to.

We are happy to report that all of the crane work is complete at this time. The team continues to work on the Oak Home Area Courtyard and should be done by early October. We would like to thank everyone for working with our team to complete this much needed process. We look forward to further additions to the courtyards in 2024 to enhanced the courtyards.

The team at the home will be completing annual mandatory training early next week. As part of that education we will be reviewing the Zero Tolerance of Resident Abuse and Neglect Program. We would also like to provide this education to each of you and remind you to please reach out if you ever have concerns about the care of your loved one.

During this time, again ensure that residents were out of the areas listed below for both Oak and Maple home areas. There was signage in place and staff monitored the area during this time. During this time, again ensure that residents were out of the areas listed below for both Oak and Maple home areas. There was signage in place and staff monitored the area during this time. The Resident Influenza Vaccine Clinics will be taking place Wednesday October 4, 2023 through Friday October 6, 2023. Please ensure that you return any calls that you receive related to consent for vaccination so that we are prepared to vaccination those that wish to receive their influenza vaccine. Also, COVID booster vaccines continue to be offered to residents based on the schedule from Ontario Health. Staff will contact you if your loved one is due for the vaccine and not able to consent for themselves.

Then team is planning on moving to the Ok Home Area starting at 10:00am on the same day. This means that residents for both Oak and Maple will need to be out of the posted areas on the units for the time listed below. See below for more information.
