The new generator installation is going very smoothly and its completion is less than a month away. The remaining electrical work will require three to four power interruptions, each lasting up to 4 hours. The next outage is planned for Tuesday, November 28th, 2023, from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm. During this outage, we will be powered by our temporary generator which provides partial power to the building. As a reminder, resident rooms will not have power as they normally do during a power outage.

Due to limited power in the main kitchen and the inability to keep meals hot, a modified cold lunch will be offered.

Further testing was completed by Public Health and the resident was negative. Therefore, heightened surveillance has been lifted in the Cedar Home Area.

Quality Improvement is an important part of quality resident care. Each month our team focuses on improving the home's aspects and care for the residents. You can now find information about this process in the home by visiting the bulletin board outside the Oak Home Area.

The Activity Department is excited to announce that our bus outings are underway! We had our first trip on Nov. 14^th when residents ventured out for a country drive. There are more upcoming lunch trips and country drives planned for the remainder of the month. Please watch the activity calendars monthly for these events.

Volunteer support is an important aspect of being able to offer outings to our residents. If you or someone you know wish to volunteer on our outings or for programs offered in the home, please contact the Activity Department.

With the weather changing, it’s a great time for family members to bring in proper winter gear for residents to go out in the community. Hats, gloves, mitts, scarves, coats, and boots for your loved one would be appreciated if you feel that they might like to either go outside or go on an outing.

• The new generator installation is going very smoothly and its completion is less than a month away. The remaining electrical work will require three to four power interruptions, each lasting up to 4 hours in duration. There will be a planned outage only for the support building (not resident home areas) on Monday November 13, 2023 from 8:00 am to 9:00 am.
• The Oak emergency exit ramp has been completed and now can be utilized should there be a building evacuation. A temporary wooden handrail has been installed while the permeant railing is being fabricated. It should be ready for installation in 6-8 weeks.
• There was an annual hot water tank inspection on November 9th, 2023. The water at this time is restored, but there is a slight tint to the water.
