The District Municipality of Muskoka is developing a Workforce Development Strategy for the Early Years and Child Care Sector, to support the retention and recruitment of a high-quality childcare and early year’s workforce.

  • Muskoka’s vision is for child care and early years to be a career of choice for existing and potential professionals by informing them about the range of opportunities available to them within the sector.
  • Muskoka needs to retain and attract professionals with the appropriate knowledge, skills, and attitudes in order to provide high-quality care, education, and play-based learning opportunities for children.
  • Consultations are a key priority for Muskoka, and your input is critical to the success of the project. It will inform Muskoka and its stakeholders on the priorities of early childhood education professionals and early years and child care programming, the range of challenges and opportunities associated with the sector and recommendations to develop an innovative and collaborative workforce development strategy.

We are currently reaching out directly to child care providers and staff, post-secondary education professionals and stakeholder organizations in Muskoka through our partner networks.
