September 28 Update

Work planned week of September 28 to October 2

  • The contractor will continue installation of catch basins and begin installation of new water services.

  • Removal of the existing sidewalk on the south side of Bay Street will begin, with associated pedestrian detours put in place.

  • Crews will continue excavation and site preparation activities in advance of upcoming road reconstruction work.

Work completed week of September 21 to September 25

  • Watermain commissioning was completed.

  • The contractor continued storm sewer installation and catch basin construction activities.

Community impacts

  • Pedestrian traffic will be redirected to the north side of Bay Street while the existing sidewalk on the south side is removed. Please follow all posted pedestrian detour and sidewalk closure signage within the work zone.

  • We thank the community for its patience and cooperation as this important infrastructure improvement project progresses.

September 21 Update

Work planned Week of September 18 to September 24

  • Watermain testing and commissioning will take place this week.
  • Crews will also continue installing the remaining catch basins.

Work completed this Week of September 11 to September 17

  • Installation of the new watermain was completed, including the placement of new fire hydrants.

Community impacts

  • Advance notices regarding temporary water service disruptions have been delivered to affected residents and businesses. Impacted properties will receive a minimum of 72 hours' notice with details on the timing of the planned water service interruption in the coming days.
  • Motorists, cyclists, and pedestrians are reminded to use caution and follow all posted signage when travelling through the construction zone.

September 14 Update

Work planned week of September 14 to September 18

  • The contractor will continue installing watermain, storm sewer and sanitary sewer laterals.

Work completed week of September 7 to September 11

  • The contractor continued installation of watermain and storm sewer.

Community impacts

  • Trisan plans to work Saturdays for the remaining duration of the project.
  • Pedestrian access through the construction site will be changing in advance of sidewalk removals. Please watch for updated signage.

September 4 Update

Work planned week of September 7 to September 11

  • Continue installing watermain between Mary and John Street.
  • Complete sanitary sewer services east of John Street.

Work completed week of August 31 to September 4

  • Continued installation of watermain from Sarah Street to the east side of Mary Street

Community impacts

  • Bay Street remains closed.
  • Pedestrian access through the construction site will be changing in advance of sidewalk removals on the south side of Bay Street. Please watch for updated signage through the construction site.
