August 31 Update

Work planned week of August 28 to September 4

  • Continuing to install storm sewer and sanitary sewer laterals (pipes that connect individual properties to the main sewer line)

Work completed week of August 21 to August 27

  • Continued installation of sanitary sewer laterals and storm sewer including catch basins and maintenance holes.
  • Completed remaining watermain cut and caps to isolate the section of watermain that will be replaced from the water distribution network.
  • Enbridge Gas completed all necessary gas main relocations.

Community impacts

  • No new impacts for motorists or pedestrians are anticipated this week.
  • Please continue to use the posted detour routes to navigate around the construction site.

August 24 Update

Work planned week of August 21 to August 27

  • Crews will continue connecting individual properties to the new sanitary sewer , and work on the storm sewer main, which carries rainwater away from the road
  • Complete cut and cap of the existing watermain to allow for watermain replacement.

Work completed week of August 14 to August 20

  • Continued installing sanitary services (the pipes that connect individual properties to the main sewer line)
  • Installation began on the new storm sewer.

Community impacts

  • The remaining watermain disconnection work will begin the week of August 24. Affected residents and businesses have received notice of the temporary water disruption.
  • Bay Street remains closed. We would like to remind the community that businesses are open and accessible within the construction site.

August 17 Update

Work planned week of August 14 to August 20

  • Crews will continue installing sanitary service pipes that connect homes and businesses to the main sanitary sewer line.
  • Crews will begin storm sewer construction.

Work completed week of August 7 to August 13

  • Crews completed several sanitary service line connections and installed two new sanitary maintenance holes.

Community impacts

  • Residents and businesses in the area may experience a temporary water disruption during cut-and-cap work the week of August 24. Affected residents will receive notice ahead of time.
  • Pedestrians are reminded to use designated pedestrian route through the construction zone to keep everyone safe.

August 10 Update

Work planned week of August 10 to August 14

  • Install sanitary maintenance holes at Sarah Street and connect them to the existing sanitary sewer system.
  • Continue installation of sanitary sewer service connections.
  • Begin watermain replacement work starting at Sarah Street.

Work completed week of August 3 to August 7

  • Completed installation of the sanitary sewer to the eastern limit of the project area.
  • Installed and tested a temporary sanitary bypass system at Sarah Street.
  • Completed watermain cut-and-cap work and installed new valves on Sarah Street during overnight operations on August 6.

Community impacts

  • While Bay Street remains closed, we would like to remind the community that businesses remain open within the construction zone.
  • Pedestrians are reminded to use the designated walkways through the work zone to keep everyone safe.

August 3 Update

Work planned week of August 3 to August 7

  • Crews continue sanitary sewer installation, including digging, installing pipe, and backfilling.
  • Crews will connect the new sewer line to the existing system and complete valve work to prepare for the start of water line construction.

Work completed week of July 24 to July 30

  • Sanitary sewer pipe was dug and installed.

Community impacts

  • There will be a temporary interruption to water services for residents and businesses in the affected area on Thursday, August 6. Impacted residents and businesses will receive a hand-delivered notice with more details.
