Your voice matters! As we plan for updates to the 2026 District of Muskoka budget, we want to ensure that it continues to reflect the needs and priorities of our residents. This is your opportunity to influence how resources are allocated to vital services and projects in our community. Your participation in this 5 minute survey, will help shape the future of Muskoka. Together, we can build a stronger, more vibrant Muskoka.
Each year, the District of Muskoka and our partner municipalities work hard to develop separate budgets that address the unique needs of our community and pave the way for a sustainable future.
The budgeting process at both the District and the Town/Township levels plays a critical role in determining the allocation of resources across various essential services.
- The District Budget: The District of Muskoka is dedicated to providing regional Muskoka-wide services that benefit all residents in every Town and Township. This includes transportation on District roads, managing waste disposal, planning future developments, protecting our environment, community services and supports, and ensuring robust long-term care and emergency services, to name a few.
- Town/Township Budgets: Each Town and Township in Muskoka is responsible for developing its own budget to fund services that have a direct impact on the daily lives of its residents. This includes maintenance of local parks, community centres, community planning, and specific public works projects tailored to meet local needs.
As we plan for 2026 – we invite you to share your thoughts on where you think the District should focus our efforts.
