Choosing Your Accommodation in the New Fairvern Home

As we prepare for the transition into the new Fairvern Long Term Care Home, we are asking each resident to let us know their preferred type of room for the new building. This early step helps us plan ahead and ensure that everyone’s needs and preferences are respected during the move.

At this stage, we are only collecting your choice of room type. Once all residents have selected either a Private Room or a Basic Room, we will begin the next phase: supporting residents in choosing where in the home they would like to live.

Accommodation Options

Private Room

A private room offers your own bedroom and washroom, providing the highest level of privacy and personal space.

Monthly rate: $2,701.61 (Ontario Ministry of Long‑Term Care standard rate)

Basic Room

A basic room is a shared accommodation option. In the new home, basic rooms are designed to maximize comfort while offering a more affordable choice which includes a private bathroom for each Resident.

Monthly rate: $1,891.31 (Ontario Ministry of Long‑Term Care standard rate)

Please note: Rates are set by the Ontario Ministry of Long‑Term Care and may be subject to change by the province.

What We Need From You

We kindly ask each resident—or their substitute decision maker—to let us know which accommodation type they prefer for the new home. Your choice will help us finalize room assignments well ahead of the move.

You can share your preference by speaking with:

Hair Care at Fairvern

Going forward if you have already consented for hair care for your resident, you will need to be in contact with the hairdresser to make all future appointments. Danielle can be reached at 705-789-6011 extension 4381 or 705-380-8349.

If you had previously declined hair care and would like your resident to have hair care, a consent form will need to be signed with the Business Office and then you will be able to make on going appointments through the hairdresser.

Friends of Fairvern Baking

The Friends of Fairvern’s freezer located at the rear of the Rose Room (1st Floor Dining Room), is stocked with a variety of Butter Tarts, Chicken Pot Pies and Roast Beef Pot Pies. Once again, we have both large pot pies and some small pot pies for those who have smaller appetites or live alone. The price for a large pie is $20.00, and the smaller ones are $10.00.

**For those who are new to Fairvern or have not purchased our baking before, all you need to do is take your choice from the freezer and if paying cash, leave your money in the black cash box mounted on the wall to the right of the freezer.

**E-Transfer Payments for our baking is also possible by sending it by email to: Friendsoffairvern1982@gmail.com

All the money raised goes towards enhancing the Residents’ lives so please think of The Friends’ baking when you’re planning your Easter celebrations or your next get together.

Coming later this month:

Raisin pies and additional fruit pies.

Once they’re ready for purchase, we’ll post it on our Facebook page.
