2025 Waste Disposal Survey - 12 Mile Bay
The way residents dispose of waste is changing! We're looking for information to better understand use of the site.
In 2019, the Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks directed the District to align all 'dumpster' sites with regulatory standards in the Environmental Protection Act. We have been working with key stakeholders on sustainable waste management alternatives that best serve our residents. With this service transition, we can increase the lifespan of our landfill by diverting more waste streams, including the expansion of our organics collection program, and preserving our natural environment by ensuring hazardous waste is disposed of properly.
Future waste management options are being considered, in partnership with the Township of The Archipelago and Moose Deer Point First Nation.
Thank you for completing our survey. We are helping keep Muskoka beautiful by restoring this site to it's natural state. To learn more about current waste management programs, visit www.muskokawaste.ca or download our Muskoka Waste mobile app.
